MONFORD GREER MEMORIAL COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP

 

The South Central Hackney Association will again be offering a $500 college scholarship for 2011.  Please see below for more information and scholarship application.  Applications are due by June 15, 2011.  Please contact Debbie Sauer (606-742-2262) or Tom Galbreath (606-748-0424) for more information.

 

 

 

 

 

College Scholarship Application

 

The purpose of the SCHA Monford Greer Memorial College Scholarship is to provide a scholarship to an incoming freshman college student who demonstrates financial need, a commitment to the Hackney industry, SCHA and academic success.

 

The scholarship will be awarded to a high school graduate on the basis of submitted evidence of academic success, financial need, extracurricular activities(including community service), and involvement with the Hackney breed. (Depending on the number of applicants an interview may be required).

 

Completed application, reference letters and a photo suitable for publication must be received by June 15, of the year in which the applicant will be an incoming freshman college student.

 

A scholarship will be awarded one time only to any individual.  All information submitted with the application will be held in strict confidence.  No application will be returned and the decision of the Scholarship Committee shall be final.

SOUTH CENTRAL HACKNEY ASSOCIATION OFFERS

ROAD PONY CAMP SCHOLARSHIP

 

The South Central Hackney Association is pleased to announce that once again they will be offering a scholarship to The Shamrock Farm Road Pony Camp in Smithfield, KY.  Anyone under the age of 18 is encouraged to submit an essay and a brief biography.  Scholarships will be awarded to the winner of an essay contest entitled “Why I Want to Learn More about the Hackney Breed.”  The scholarship will cover the cost of camp fees, food and lodging.  (Transportation to and from the camp is the responsibility of the winner).

 

The dates for the 2011 camp are July 17-23.  Applicants please submit your essay and a short autobiography, including equine experience, no later than June 6, 2011.
